Stopping Difficult Enemies In Their Tracks

By Kala A Sodekem

Walking home coming from work in the evening is a risky thing. In my neighborhood, drug addicts, muggers and also drunks that love to pick fights roam the streets at night. It is essential that I carry the appropriate tools to protect myself.

I carried pepper spray with me but some of the more determined attackers were able to resist it. I needed something with added stopping power but did not wish to give up the defense spray, thus I purchased a Pepper Mace baton.

Pepper spray is a non-lethal self-defense tool that uses pepper as its active ingredient. It brings about an excruciating burning feeling in the eyes as well as on the skin of any person it touches, making them unable to attack.

The effect lasts only for a few moments and doesn't cause any long term damage. Its objective is to allow you time to get away an attacker and ask for help, not to face him head-on.

A pepper spray baton is a baton called a kubotan which comes with pepper spray disguised within. Disguised pepper sprays like it provide the element of surprise, as an attacker would not guess that he is about to be sprayed.

Making use of a pepper baton, I now have two ways of dealing with opponents. If confronted, I can make use of the pepper spray to try and disarm him. Should he withstand that, I can make use of the kubotan to further deter him.

The self-defense kubotan can be used on its own or attached with a key chain. It increases the power of each strike and works particularly well on bony surfaces. If it is attached to a key chain, you can also use the kubotan to swing the keys at an assailant.

The Pepper Mace baton has proven to be a very useful tool. Its 2-in-1 functionality gives me the flexibility that I require to face stubborn attackers while allowing me to keep using my non-lethal pepper spray.
